book suggestions?

It's t-11 days until we leave for Hawaii. Yay for sleeping in and relaxing on the beach. We can't wait! It's hard to picture time for leisure reading right now, in the midst of the last week and a half of my final college classes,  but I must plan ahead. Tell me - what books should I take with me? What are some must-reads that I have missed out on the past few years? I do plan to take Mockingjay (I'm excited to finally read it). I've heard The Help and These Is My Words are good so I might see if I can reserve those (unless anyone has them who would be willing to let me borrow them?). Any others?

Also, I tried on my new, cute bathing suit tonight. I ordered it from DownEast Basics last year when it was on sale. Slight problem though - last year my chest was a bit bigger than it is now. You know how that's the first place you lose weight? So now my cute tankini doesn't fit quite right anymore. Not sure what to do about that. I guess if that's the least of my problems, I'm doing okay.

In other news, I am no longer working. I was really sad to leave Children's Home Society. I have worked there for the past two years and I really loved my job. It's very nice to have less on my plate but it's weird not to go to work on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I am off to write another paper. I am almost done and I couldn't be happier about it! Hopefully I can make it through this last week and a half with my sanity in tact. Wish me luck!

I have Mockingjay if you want to borrow it. I also loved These is My Words, but it's the first one in a series if you don't like to be left hanging. I haven't read The Help yet, but I loved The Forgotten Garden, the Red Scarf, and recently finished Entwined and love it! I could go on and on. If you want to see my whole list I can send you a goodreads invite. That's so exciting you're going to Hawaii! We were just there a year ago at this time. *sigh* :o)

I'm not sure what kind of books you're into, but I LOVED The Help and These is my words is a favorite of mine as well. Goodreads is a good place to look. Shannon Hale books are fun and loved the Guernsey Literary Potatoe Peel Pie Society, too. A fast and fun read. I like to read quick (non deep-thinking) books while lounging around in the sun. But that's me. good luck!

I have "The Help" and a bunch of Shannon Hale and the Guernsey Literary (etc.). You are welcome to borrow any of them that you'd like! I have also LOVED the Flavia de Luce mysteries--that series starts with "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie." But, that's not one I own, unfortunately.
