checking in

[One week photo shoot with dad]

Things are going well since our little guy joined us (two weeks ago from tomorrow). He is the sweetest little baby. I still can't believe how early he came but we're glad he's here. [For those interested in his birth story, it is on my pregnancy blog.]

It was so nice having my mom's help for the first two weeks. She made dinner, kept up with the dishes and laundry, held him a lot, went to the store for me several times, and helped with shifts in the night (and took him all night on her last night here). I am a little nervous about doing it on my own. At least W has the next two weeks off of work. My sister and dad are also coming into town this week and I'm excited to spend time with them.

Aside from adjusting to little sleep, trying to nurse / pump, and figure out what cry means what, I am trying to finish up my quarter. It's all a little crazy, but I'm sure we'll get through it.

You will get through it! The first month of nursing and pumping are the hardest but very worth it. Hopefully he will be good for you. :)

Just try to breathe... it will all work out, one way or the other. You have a fabulous family!

I have some disappointments from my first few weeks with Connor -- I can't call them regrets because they couldn't have been helped. But, life goes on, and I love him to pieces! You are so blessed to have Oliver with you!
