a little story

So I debated sharing this with the Internet world because it's pretty weird but Crystal talked me into it. Here's the story:
I was really tired the other night as I was getting ready for bed. It was already way past midnight and I had to get up at 6:30 the next morning. I always floss my teeth before going to bed, but I was just so tired and thought maybe I could skip this one time and got into bed. So I was laying there, trying to go to sleep, and my thoughts kept coming back to flossing. I really don't need to encourage cavities so I decided to just get up and floss really quickly. How long could it take?

So I was flossing away at sometime close to 1:00am and my floss got stuck between my bottom left molar teeth. (Fascinating, I know.) But seriously, I could not get it out. I think somehow it folded over itself so it was super thick. I tried pulling on it but it was too slick for me to get a good grasp. I tried flossing it out with another piece of floss. I even tried a plier-type of tool but it only frayed the floss. Nothing was working. W was already asleep so no help there. I debated going to sleep with a long piece of floss hanging out of my mouth but I just couldn't see it happening. I tried different approaches for about 20 minutes and was extremely frustrated that something so ridiculous was keeping me awake.

I went into my scrapbook room to search for some sort of tool. Then I saw it. An old fashioned clothes pin (which I use for storing ribbon). I put the floss through the opening and wrapped it around several times and then pulled really hard.

And it worked.

And this is probably the weirdest post of all time. But just in case you ever get floss stuck in your teeth, you now know what to do.

(BTW, the floss pictured is a fresh piece, not the floss I used for any of you who were getting grossed out.)

How funny. We'll not when you are tired and ready for bed, but funny when I'm sitting at my computer :)

That is a very memorable story! I'm glad you got it out. It's one of those not-so-funny-at-the-moment, but very-funny-later kind of moments.

That is so funny!! Glad to hear the floss is not a permanent part of your mouth.
